I bought the scroll of the Three Gorges, high up on the wall, in Shashi (SHAH-shir) in 1996 on a Saturday excursion with my daughter, Abby. I was there teaching a short course; she was doing a medical rotation in a local hospital, learning about Chinese medicine.

Judy and I bought the two oil paintings below on a March, 2000 trip through Taos. The artist's name is Mitch Foster. He lives in Colorado and also shows in a gallery in Golden, teaches art classes locally.

The Modigliani-esque picture is by an art student whom we met in Shanghai, purchased in 1999. Note that this is the same wall in the previous picture--now with a painting on it! The water colors (of Souzhou) were purchased on the same day in Shanghai.
