Country: USA
Degree Program: PhD, Geophysics
E-mail: sluo@mines.edu

Simon graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor's degree in physics. He joined CWP in August 2009 and is working with Prof. Dave Hale.

His research interests include seismic image processing, seismic migration and inversion, and geophysical computing. He interned at Transform Software in Littleton, Colorado, and at Chevron Energy Technology Company in San Ramon, California.

Simon's main research interests are in seismic image processing, and seismic migration and inversion. He has worked on development of an image processing method for automatically unfaulting and unfolding seismic images. He also works in the area of waveform inversion, and is interested in investigating the effects of traveltime errors in seismic migration and waveform inversion.
