Registration Information

Registration for the 13th International Workshop on Seismic Anisotropy (13IWSA) is open as of April 1, 2008.

Registration Deadline

The deadline for Early Registration is Friday, July 11, 2008. All registration forms and/or payments received after this deadline will be assessed a $100 late registration fee.

Registration Fees in US Dollars (prior to July 11, 2008)

Single Registration: $750
Double Registration: $500

Those requesting Double Registration status will share a room with another IWSA attendee. If you have a preference of roommate, please supply the roommate-attendee's name with your registration form.

Spouse Registration: $300 (with paid Single Registration)

How to Request a Student Grant

The Organizing Committee has limited funding available to help with travel costs and to waive registration fees for students attending 13IWSA. The Committee will consider requests for travel grands and/or waiving the registration fee for Student Participants who will give oral or poster presentations, and who register ON OR BEFORE Monday, May 5, 2008. Priority consideration will be given to early registrants. Requests for student grants should include a brief recommendation letter from the student's academic advisor or department head.

What the Registration Fee includes:

  • Lodging at the Winter Park Lodge for 5 nights, Sunday through Thursday
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner, starting with dinner on Sunday and ending with lunch on Friday
  • Opening Reception, Sunday, August 10
  • Workshop dinner, Tuesday, August 12
  • Mountain excursions, Wednesday, August 13
  • Special musical recital, Thursday, August 14

How to Submit the Registration Form

Submit the completed registration form to Michelle Szobody, either by fax at (303) 273-3478 or by email at mszobody@mines.edu.

We will confirm receipt of your registration; however, your credit card will not be charged until after the July 11, 2008, early registration deadline.

For registrations received after July 11, your credit card will be charged upon receipt.

How to Obtain a VISA

To determine whether or not you require a visa to enter the USA, please visit your local visa service, or the website of the United States Visa Service (http://www.usvisaservice.org/us-visas.htm) at your earliest convenience.

If you require a visa and need an official letter of invitation, please indicate that on your registration form, or contact Michelle Szobody at mszobody@mines.edu. A letter of invitation will be sent to you as quickly as possible.

Caution: High Altitude

Please be advised that Winter Park, Colorado is at high elevation in the Rocky Mountains. To learn about the possible effects of high altitude on some people, and how to mitigate those effects, please read the attached high alititude information.
