Ferernando de Naronha is the largest of a string of
islands that are the remains
of two volcanic calderas from
different epochs.
<p> The island is a world heritage site
for its unique position, natural beauty and sea life.
<p>There is a major turtle feeding area and porpoises
nearby, as well as a major worldwide scuba diving
area a small way off shore. Visitors are limited
to an average of 420 people per day.
<p>Judy
described the beaches as fulfilling her phantasy of the best
beaches in the world. We spent a week there
and wrote this journal about our visit.
